FAQs about Virtual Shows

Where do you host your virtual shows?

Shows are hosted primarily on Zoom for up to 200 attendees. More guests can be permitted for an additional fee. Special requests for platforms like Teams, Meet, etc can also be accommodated.

Edd pulls from his years of experience utilizing Zoom and understanding its architecture, benefits and limitations to create a straightforward and user-friendly digital environment. For each magic show, Edd sets up the room, provides audience instructions, and creates a space to mix and mingle before/after the show, so all the audience needs to do is show up and enjoy the event.

What’s a magic show like on Zoom?

Just like in-person shows, these digital magic shows are 100% interactive. There are tricks that use volunteers, tricks that the whole audience participates in together, and in particular shows, there are magic tricks that occur at audience members’ houses.

Each show is primarily performed live with occasional pre-recorded segments. This allows Edd to respond to things occurring in the Zoom room and invite the audience in to an interactive experience where no two shows are the same!

How do you customize shows for different audiences?

Part of being a professional performer is understanding the audience. When booking your magic show, Edd will ask questions to create a custom script and curate his illusions based on nearly two decades of experience creating specialty magic shows for a wide array of different audiences, from crowds of rowdy children to professional corporate presentations.

Me and/or my child are interested in learning magic. Where do we start?

They say that “a magician never reveals his secrets,” but in truth, most magicians will teach someone who shows a genuine interest in magic.

Before investing a lot of time and energy into gear and lessons, Edd recommends a trip to the local library to learn about basic magic principles, beginner illusions, and the history of the art form. For novice magicians looking to take the next step, Edd has created a beginner magic kit available for sale at https://www.magicshowschicago.com/magickit

What would a magic show cost?

This is where it gets “Tricky” 😉 Edd performs different shows for different audiences and offers different packages and prices. The very best way to get a direct quote is to call Edd at 773-818-0195 or by filling out as much info as you have about your event on the form at https://wizardofsorts.com/contact-2/

Are you doing in-person shows?

At this time, Edd is only offering digital shows in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19 and keep his audiences safe.
